Teachers prepare for 2016-2017 school year

The schools may be closed for summer, but work continues in Homer 33C.

Today (June 8), teachers gathered at Hadley Middle School to review the new learning materials that will be used in English Language Arts classes this fall.

The McGraw-Hill Wonders Series was previewed and piloted by teachers this past spring.

They unanimously agreed the series offered the best literature approach, including a reading/writing workshop model, a rigorous vocabulary and a blend of informational and literature text.

“It’s rich in literature and informational text,” said Kathleen Robinson, the district’s assistant superintendent for instruction.
