There’s Still Time To Catch Fall Festivals Near Homer Glen, Lockport

There are lots of fall festivities around Homer Glen and Lockport.

HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — Fall is a great time to get outside in Illinois and take in the rich offering of festivals.

The changing colors of autumn provide a scenic background for fall and harvest festivals, which have contests ranging from apple bobbing and pumpkin carving to lumberjack contests and Halloween parades.

Fall is also the season for corn mazes, pumpkin patches and apple orchard visits.

Here are a few festivals and events in Homer Glen and Lockport worth putting on the calendar:

  • The Village of Homer Glen will also hold a Trunk or Treat event at Heritage Park on Oct. 22. Drop by the park from 3 to 5 p.m. for trick-or-treating in decorated, candy-filled trunks.
  • Spooky Park - Halloween decorations are up and lights will go on every night through Oct. 31 from 5:45 to 11 p.m. at Heritage Park in Homer Glen.
  • The "Dress Your Pet" Halloween costume photo contest calls for photos of your pet in costume. Be sure to include your contact information, pet's name, and details about your pet's costume, and email a photo to events@homerglenil.org. The deadline to enter is Oct. 26.
