Township Accepts Resignations, Appoints New Trustee And Collector

Angel Shake was appointed as Trustee, and Mike Clausen was appointed as Collector.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Two resignations were submitted and two appointments were made at Homer Township's Tuesday meeting.

Township Trustee Mark Gawron resigned, and Township Collector Angel Shake resigned. Shake was then appointed as Trustee, and Michael Clausen was appointed as collector.

Township Supervisor Steve Balich told Patch that Gawron has new employment and had to resign.

"He will remain on committees but comes as his time permits," Balich said. "He is a very valuable asset for the Township."

Balich said Shake was already part of the Board as collector, "so it is common practice for township's to move the collector, who is part of the Board, to Trustee."

Clausen, who recently ran for LTHS Board of Education, was then appointed to Township Collector.

"Mike Clausen was chosen as tax collector because he is a businessman and understands the nature of saving money as well as getting things done in an efficient manner," Balich said.
