2 Candidates Filed For Mayoral Race In Homer Glen

Two candidates have also filed for Village Clerk.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Homer Glen voters will see two candidates in the mayoral race early next year. Voters will vote in the consolidated election on April 4.

While deadlines for other agencies to file petitions for candidacy are on Dec. 19, the last day to file for the race for Homer Glen Mayor was Nov. 28.

The last day to file objections to nomination papers was Dec. 5, according to the Village website.

Homer Glen has a two-term limit on its mayor, so current Mayor George Yukich cannot run again for re-election.

The two candidates who filed petitions for the race are: Christina Neitzke-Troike and Rose "Rosie" Reynders, according to a public notice from the Village.

The mayor has a 4-year term.

Neitzke-Troike is currently the Village Clerk, and has previously served as a Homer Township Trustee and Village Trustee.

Reynders is currently a Village Trustee, and was elected in 2021.


In addition to the mayoral race, two candidates have also filed for the 4-year term for Village Clerk. The candidates are: Candice Bielski and Yvonne Chentnik.
