Two LTHS Wrestlers Named State Champions

LOCKPORT, IL — Two Lockport Township High School wrestlers earned state championships at the IHSA Class 3A individual state tournament on Feb. 17-19.

Andrew Blackburn-Forst (220 pounds) and Brayden Thompson (170 pounds) are both state champions in their respective classes, head coach Josh Oster said.

Blackburn-Forst defeated Ghee Rachal from Marist by decision in the first place match, Oster said. Thompson defeated Tyler Perry from Marmion Academy by decision in his championship match.

Thompson had a 45-0 record this season, and Blackburn-Forst was 35-5.
