Woman Shot In Lockport Township: Police Seek Public's Help
The woman was shot multiple times in the upper torso by an unknown assailant, police said.
LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help after a woman was shot multiple times in Lockport Township. The woman was shot in her upper torso by an unknown assailant, however, she is in stable condition at an area hospital, police said.
Police said they responded to a call of shots fired at 12:34 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of Riverview Avenue in Lockport Township. Deputies arrived on scene and were directed to a backyard of a home where a 52-year-old woman had been shot multiple times in her upper torso area. The woman was taken to a local area hospital in critical condition at that time.
The woman was later taken by helicopter to a Chicago-area hospital and is receiving treatment there.

Deputies searched the area for potential suspects and additional evidence, police said. Detectives have also interviewed several potential witnesses, and the investigation is still ongoing.
The area was also processed by crime scene investigators and evidence will be submitted to the crime lab for analysis, police said.
