LOCKPORT, IL — A free heart screening for LTHS students will be held at Lockport Township High School East Campus on Sept. 8.

Parent volunteers are also needed to help with registration and entering data on the day of the event.

You can register your student online for a screening.
According to the Young Hearts for Life website, an ECG can detect certain serious heart conditions. An ECG records the electrical activity of the heart by using electrodes attached to the skin with a mild adhesive, the website states.

The organization's cardiac screening program has screened over 240,000 students across the country.
