Teen Killed In Shooting Inside Glenwood Home

Glenwood police confirmed one person was shot and killed Sunday night inside a home on Longwood Drive.

GLENWOOD, IL — One person is dead after a shooting inside a home in Glenwood Sunday night, police have confirmed.

Glenwood police said Monday they responded to the 300 block of Longwood Drive around 5:30 p.m. Sunday and found that one person had been shot inside the home during an "altercation."

The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, where police say he later died. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office did not have information on the death in their Monday morning ledger.

The identity of the fatal victim was identified in a Daily Southtown report as 18-year-old Cleonte Henderson. Henderson was a recent graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, according to the report.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is helping Glenwood police investigate the incident, which police believe to be isolated.

A local neighbor on the Homewood-Flossmoor Patch said streets in the Glenwood Manor area were blocked off as early as 5:30 p.m. Sunday and into Monday morning.
