111 Students Inducted into Homewood-Flossmoor High School National Honor Society

Homewood-Flossmoor High School held its National Honor Society induction ceremony Wednesday, May 5.

The school inducted 111 sophomores and juniors into the society.

Students selected for National Honor Societ excel in scholarship, leadership, service and character. They maintain a grade point average of at 3.6 on a 4.0 scale. They represent the top 20 percent of their class. As part of their membership, students are required to complete 25 hours of service for the school.

Alumnus Edward Monser returned as the keynote speaker. Once a member of Viking baseball, football & wrestling, today Mr. Monser is the president of Emerson, a Fortune 500 company based in St. Louis, Missouri.

“Wonderful speech filled with great advice,” wrote one parent on the school’s Facebook page. “Loved that he had his adorable mom with him! Thank you Mr. Monser!”
