2 Carjacked At Gunpoint In Homewood Driveway

A group of armed men forced two people out of a car that was parked in the 17600 block of Lincoln Avenue early on Tuesday.

HOMEWOOD, IL — Two people were carjacked in a Homewood driveway in the overnight hours of Tuesday morning, police said in a news release. The victims were in a parked car in the 17600 block of Lincoln Avenue at 1:48 a.m. on Feb. 18 when they were approached by the carjackers.

There were either three or four carjackers, the victims told Homewood police. They were armed and fled the area in the stolen car. The car was found later in Harvey.

The victims walked away from the area and were able to contact the Homewood Police Department, police said.

No other description of the carjackers was available other than that they are all black men.

Just one hour before this incident, police in Orland Park said two people parked in a car outside the Jewel-Osco at 174th and Wolf Road were also carjacked at gunpoint.
