22-Year-Old Killed In FBI Agent-Involved Shooting In South Suburbs: Authorities

The shooting is under review by the agency's inspection division, the FBI said.

DIXMOOR, IL — A man was killed in a shooting involving an FBI agent on Wednesday in the south suburbs, the second such shooting this week in the Chicago area, according to authorities.

The gunfire occurred around 7 a.m. in Dixmoor during court-authorized law enforcement activity, authorities said, adding that no FBI personnel were injured. A 22-year-old man died about an hour after the incident, which took place in the 14500 block of South Cooper Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously,” the agency said in a statement Wednesday. “In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division.”

The man’s sister, Nia Cole, identified the deceased to the Chicago Sun-Times as Chadwick Clark, an aspiring rapper with a 2-year-old daughter who was about to start a job with Amazon.

Clark had pleaded guilty last year to failing to report a crash and to a weapons charge, the newspaper reported.

“My brother just did two years in jail,” Cole told the Sun-Times. “He was trying to get his life together. He was messing up at first, but he was trying to do better.”

Wednesday's shooting comes less than two days after an FBI agent commuting home in a bureau-issued vehicle Monday evening saw 27-year-old Oscar D. Isaya-Corrales firing into a group of people and fatally shot him in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, authorities said.
