3 Men Beat Up Homewood Man Outside His Home, Then Stole His Car

A Homewood man was beaten up by three armed robbers who stole his Honda Civic last night.

HOMEWOOD, IL - A Homewood man was beaten up by three men who later stole his car as he walked from his garage to his home Tuesday night. Homewood police said the assault and carjacking was reported just after 9:30 p.m. in the 17600 block of Briar Avenue.

At first, the victim was approached by one man who grabbed him from behind while armed with a handgun. But when the victim broke free and started to run toward his house, he was confronted by two other men who got out of a car parked on the street to help the offender.

The three "knocked the victim to the ground punching and kicking the victim until he gave up his personal property, including the keys to his vehicle," police said.
