7 Injured in 2-Car Collision in Flossmoor

Seven people were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Flossmoor on Friday.

Capt. Matthew Berk, of the Flossmoor Department, said that the call came in of an accident with injuries at Vollmer Road and Western Avenue around 7:45 p.m.

“Both cars had moderate to heavy damage,” Berk said. “I was dealing with the command ambulance and doing patient triage.”

Berk did not know how many people were in each vehicle, or if children were involved.

Multiple ambulances were brought in from surrounding communities, including Chicago Heights, Homewood and Country Club Hills.
