Advocate South Suburban Hospital announces MVP winners for second quarter 2015
Advocate South Suburban Hospital honors associates as MVP Value Leaders for their stewardship, compassion, excellence & partnership.

Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Ill., recently honored its MVP Value Leaders for the second quarter of 2015. The MVP (Mission, Values and Philosophy) Program recognizes associates, physicians and volunteers who go above and beyond in demonstrating Advocate Health Care’s core values of Compassion, Excellence, Partnership, Equality and Stewardship.
Stewardship – Kelly Little was honored for going above and beyond in helping a patient’s insurance claim get approved. Because of the weeks Little spent making calls, providing requested documentation and doing daily follow ups, the patient continues to receive the treatment she needs without even knowing about all the worry and work happening on the back end.
Compassion – Johnny Risser and William Acquah were recognized for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to a patient. Risser touched the family by providing personalized care and giving special attention to their loved one. Acquah ministered to the family through difficult times, providing comfort and joy when least expected.

Excellence – Yvonne Provost was recognized for consistently providing exceptional care to her patients. She works to support her patients, but also to pass them the knowledge and skills they need to take ownership of their respiratory needs, allowing them to stay healthy after they return home.
Partnership – Hana Durkin and Scott Peters were honored for their collaboration in caring for a critically ill patient in the Intensive Care Unit. Together, the two worked carefully alongside the physician to coordinate the patient’s care, and ultimately helped facilitate a safe transfer to another facility.
