Advocate South Suburban Hospital to host a Farmer’s Market on June 14

The hospital is partnering with Cristina Foods to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to the south suburbs.

Advocate South Suburban Hospital is hosting two summer Farmer’s Markets this year. The first will be Wednesday, June 14 from 10 am to 2 pm, in the hospital’s main parking lot. The hospital is located at 17800 S. Kedzie Avenue in Hazel Crest.

Advocate is partnering with Cristina Foods, a wholesale food service distributor, to supply fresh produce and other items for the event. Shoppers will have access to a variety of fresh foods like greens, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, jalapeno peppers, grapes, melons, honey and much more. There will also be a limited selection of plants available for purchase.

“We are excited to offer this resource and to provide fresh, healthy foods to our local communities,” said Karen Clark, Vice President of Operations at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. “We are invested in keeping our community healthy and good health starts with a proper diet.”
