Alleged Drunken Driver Had Open Booze, Pills in Car: Blotter

Anthony Estock, 25, of the 17700 block of Larkspur Lane, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and failing to signal a turn after a Dec. 5 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Policed pulled over Estock at about 12:50 a.m. in the 18100 block of Governors Highway for a lane violation and not signaling his turn from 183rd Street, the report stated. During the stop, the officer reported that Estock’s breath had an odor of alcohol on it, and his eyes were glassy and bloodshot.

Irma Anguiano, 29, of the 1000 block of Holbrook Road, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, aggravated driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, illegally transporting alcohol in an open container and improper lane use after a Dec. 5 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Police pulled over Anguiano at about 1:53 a.m. after her car swerved onto the shoulder in the 17800 block of Ashland Avenue, the report stated. During the stop, the officer reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on Anguiano’s breath and noticed that her eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

After Anguiano told police she had had a beer and a half-glass of wine to drink, she was asked to exit her vehicle, the report stated. A search of the vehicle revealed an open bottle of Remy Martin cognac and a plastic prescription bottle filled with a variety of pills, the report added.
