FLOSSMOOR, IL — Flossmoor, IL – Flossmoor School District 161 is proud to announce that Flossmoor Hills Elementary School and Serena Hills Elementary School have both been named 2025–2026 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools. This national recognition highlights each school’s intentional focus on relationships, student engagement, and creating a positive learning environment.
Under the leadership of Principal Evita McNeil-Dobson at Flossmoor Hills Elementary and Principal Elizabeth Reich at Serena Hills Elementary, both schools have demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering meaningful connections where students feel a deep sense of belonging and support.
This designation is awarded to schools that prioritize both the academic and emotional well-being of every child. At Flossmoor Hills and Serena Hills, that commitment is evident in daily interactions, shared expectations, and a culture grounded in trust, respect, and collaboration.
