HOMEWOOD, IL — An unknown sender made "several" bomb threats against daycare facilities in Homewood, police said Monday morning.
The threats came in via email, police said, and authorities have determined that the threats are not credible at this time, police said.
The investigation into the origin of the email remains ongoing.
"The safety and well-being of children, staff and residents remain our highest priority," police said in an alert. "The Homewood Police Department is continuing to work closely with the affected daycare facilities and will maintain an increased presence in the area out of an abundance of caution.
"We encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately."
Police said additional updates will be provided if any new information becomes available.
