FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Village of Flossmoor will host its annual Juneteenth Parade on Friday, June 19, kicking off at 10 a.m.
The "joyful community celebration" will feature a new route to avoid construction at Parker Junior High. A map can be found online.
Groups will depart IJP School’s parking lot on Flossmoor Road, then head north on Douglas Road around Leavitt Park, then into downtown Flossmoor, ending in the South Commuter Lot on Sterling Ave.
Watch for dance teams, community awareness organizations, Divine 9 fraternities and sororities, Village officials and more in this year’s parade.
Local non-profit You Matter 2 will host a post-parade party in the South Commuter Lot until 2 p.m. with activities for kids, food vendors and booths, highlighting African American-owned businesses. Click here to learn more.
