HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood invites local seniors to attend Senior Day at the Homewood Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22. The expanded market will feature more than 50 vendor stalls throughout Martin Square and along Chestnut Street, along with special activities and resources for seniors.
Senior attendees who visit the Village Welcome Booth outside Village Hall will receive a complimentary treat and Farmers' Market-branded giveaways, while supplies last.
Senior Day will also feature additional tent seating, music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, and information and resources from representatives of ComEd and Wind Creek Chicago Southland.
Saturday's expanded market will feature additional vendors and shopping opportunities beyond the regular weekly market. Vendors will offer a variety of products, including fresh produce, baked goods, artisan goods, beauty products, handcrafted items and more.
The market's regular weekly activities will also be available, including children's activities, puzzles and seasonal recipes.
