β’ Cook County Announces $8M Relief Fund To Help Clear Mountains of Debris Left From Summer Storms (wttw.com) β Homewood is set to benefit from an $8 million Cook County relief fund aimed at clearing massive piles of storm debris still clogging local lots and streets. After August's severe storms and two EF-1 tornadoes, debris in Homewood reportedly reached three stories high, straining village finances; this new funding should speed cleanup without forcing cuts to essential services.
