• Cook County Announces $8M Relief Fund To Help Clear Mountains of Debris Left From Summer Storms (newsbreak.com) — Homewood is set to receive part of an $8 million Cook County fund to clear massive debris piles left by August storms and two EF-1 tornadoes. County officials say the money will help south suburban towns like Homewood continue cleanup without cutting essential services, with debris removal expected to take about two more weeks.
