Jason Hutchins, 36, of the 17000 block of Orchard Ridge Avenue, Hazel Crest, was arrested and charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after being accused of shoplifting $97.96 worth of whiskey from Jewel, 3153 W. 183rd St., according to Homewood police reports.

Hutchins was arrested Jan. 23 for allegedly stealing whiskey from the same store, the report added.
SATURDAY, JAN. 23
DUI
Justin Florence, 25, of the 19000 block of Center Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance and failing to slow down to avoid an accident after a Jan. 23 crash, according to a Homewood police report.
Florence told police he lost control of his vehicle near Willow and Riegel roads, careening off the roadway, hitting a pole and coming to rest in a ditch, the report stated. While talking with Florence, police noticed his eyes were glossy and bloodshot, and an odor of alcohol was coming from his breath, the report added.
Retail Theft
Jamar Evans, 35, of the 100 block of East 150th Street, Harvey, was arrested and charged with retail theft after being accused of shoplifting $120 worth of cologne Jan. 23 from Kohl’s, 17620 S. Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 20
Identity Theft
Frederick Williams, 29, of the 700 block of Red Oak Lane, University Park, was arrested and charged with identity theft, possession of fictitious identification and theft over $500 after being accused buying cell phones using a fraudulent account, according to Homewood police reports.
An employee from the Verizon store, 17575 S. Halsted St., contacted police at about 7:37 p.m. Jan. 20 at about a man, identified as Williams, who allegedly bought six iPhone 6s cell phones on two separate occasions in December, the report stated. The total cost of the phones was $4,359.94, the report added.
Williams had returned to the store to purchase more phones, and was taken into custody by police when he was found with a fraudulent Indiana ID, the report added.
