Auditions Now OPEN For 2019-2020 Season

SUBURBAN YOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS NOW OPEN FOR 2019-2020 SEASON

FRANKFORT, ILLINOIS, JULY 10, 2019 - Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO) is now accepting applications to audition for the 2019-2020 season. Auditions will be held Sunday, August 24th from 10 - 4pm at The Music Connection in Frankfort located at 9370 Laraway Road.

Our program offers two ensembles:
The Incredible Opportunity Program (IOP), our beginner ensemble, offers a group instruction class for students ages 8-13 who do not already play a string instrument but would like to learn to play the violin, viola, or cello. To be considered for IOP, students must submit a one page essay titled "Why I Want to Play (Violin, Viola, or Cello)" to thesyso@gmail.com by August 1, 2019. Visit https://www.suburbanyouthsymph... for more details. Classes are held Sunday afternoons, 3-4PM, beginning August 25th, and run through the end of April. Total program cost is $280 plus a $15 materials fee (book and shoulder pad). A rental violin will be provided if needed at no additional cost. Financial aid is available to qualified students.

Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO) is the top performing group. Children ages 8-17 who have played a string instrument for at least one year and can read music well are invited to audition. Total program cost is $420. Financial aid is available to qualified students.
