IJP School Welcomes Award Winning Author

The inspiration of children was the story of Author Mike Knudson and Illustrator Stacy Curtis. Students of delighted at the creations of the pair. They told stories, drew wonderings and took time and taught about the writing process.

The Infant Jesus of Prague PTO sponsored the Author’s Day event last Friday and provided for Knudson and Curtis' visit. The duo combined for the Raymond and Graham book series. Their authorship was rewarded in the 2010-2011 New Mexico Land of Enchantment Book Award.

The author and illustrator presented the creative process. While Knudson orated, Curtis drew his expressions. Knudson encouraged students’ writing. He said, “Even when you think you made the perfect story, you can improve it.” The author challenged the students to think in the superlatives of good, better and best.
