BUILDING & FACILITY TECHNICIAN

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Parks & Buildings Foreman, the Building &Facility Technician will be responsible for routine maintenance, repairs, cleanliness, general appearance, and the efficient operation of the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District physical plant and facilities.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
•Minimum high school graduate.
•Two or more years experience and knowledge in two or more of the following fields required: plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, aquatics, mechanical repair of equipment operation.
•A valid Illinois driver’slicense withknowledge of manual transmission.
•A certified pool operator CPO required.
•State of Illinois Certified Pool Operator required. Refrigeration certification required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (DUTIES):

•Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repairs to the physical plants of District pools, facilities and equipment.
•Make and maintain ice rinks and assist with snow removal.
•Assist with custodial tasks at all District facilities and grounds.
•Maintain communication regarding problems in the field.
•Knowledge of maintenance and layout of various recreation facilities.
•Train and supervise seasonal and part-time staff.
•Operate all equipment needed to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
•Perform all tasks in related trade fields.
•Submit and maintainaccurate records and reports.
•Be proficient in operation and maintenance of all pool facility equipment and tasks.
•Must wear personal protective equipment for job function.
•Respond to authorized work request in a timely manner.•Inspect buildings, pools, facilities and work areas for appearance and safety
•Suggest means of eliminating deficiencies and improving procedures and techniques.
•Conduct facility inspections to determine general security, safety and need for maintenance of facilities.
•Keep buildings, equipment, and machinery in good condition.
•Maintain a clean and orderly condition in and around facilities and work areas.
•Develop, with Parks & BuildingsForeman, routine maintenance schedules for facilities.
•Must follow, administer and implement Homewood-Flossmoor Park District policies and guidelines.
•Adheres to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual
