Buona Beef Sets Flossmoor Opening Date

FLOSSMOOR, IL – The Buona Beef restaurant in Flossmoor is slated to open by the end of the month. The 22nd location of the chain created by the Buonavolanto family will open Feb. 28 at 19801 Crawford Ave. in Flossmoor. Those in line before 10 a.m. that day will get a free Italian beef sandwich.

“We’re thrilled to join the Flossmoor community,” Joe Buonavolanto, Jr, second-generation owner of Buona Beef, said. “We think its residents will enjoy our family’s flavorful Italian beef. We make it ‘old school’, spiced just right and free of additives and preservatives.”

The Flossmoor opening celebration will continue through that weekend, with more than 1,500 prizes being given away — including one for a year's worth of free Italian beef. On March 3 at 11 a.m. the restaurant will host a beef-eating contest that pits athletes from Homewood-Flossmoor High School against each other to win a catered party.

The new restaurant will seat 130, with a design that features a mix of archetypal Chicago materials and classic modern elements. In warmer months, there will be additional outdoor seating.
