The Cancer Support Center Hosts Survivors Block Party A Community Event Celebrating Cancer Survivors

The Cancer Support Center is hosting the Survivor's Block Party on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at its Homewood location, 2028 Elm Road, Homewood.

The Cancer Support Center is hosting the Survivor’s Block Party on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at its Homewood location, 2028 Elm Road, Homewood, Ill., where over 300 cancer survivors, and their family members and caregivers will celebrate National Cancer Survivors Month. This community-wide, free event will feature family-friendly activities, music and survivorship festivities.

“For those living with cancer, everyday is a victory,” said Sue Armato, Executive Director. “Surviving cancer is more than just living. It’s an attitude about life and living each day to the fullest. Join us as we celebrate the inspirational cancer survivors who make-up our wonderful community.”

The month of June marks National Cancer Survivors Month. Thousands of people in hundreds of communities across the U.S. and abroad will hold celebrations throughout the month of June to honor cancer survivors and to show that there is life after a cancer diagnosis – and it’s something to celebrate. Join The Cancer Support Center in celebrating those in the Chicago Southland communities living with cancer.

The Cancer Support Center has provided strength, guidance and support to anyone living with a cancer diagnosis, as well as to their loved ones. The Center is a community-based, volunteer-driven, donor-supported organization. The programs, resources and services are always delivered by professional therapists, counselors, nutritionists, and experts; and are provided in a warm, welcoming and nurturing setting at no cost to participants. Offices are located in Homewood, 2028 Elm Road, and Mokena, 19657 S. LaGrange Road, and the programs are also facilitated at several hospitals and cancer centers in the Southland communities. The Center is able to provide these resources to anyone regardless of financial ability because of the generosity of individuals, businesses and organizations.
