Caught on Video: Car Nearly Strikes Bicyclist in Flossmoor

A driver swerved and nearly crashed into a bicyclist, before the passenger doused him with some sort of liquid, according to police reports.

A bicyclist was able to capture being almost struck by a car before being doused with a drink by the vehicle’s passenger thanks to his bike-mounted camera, according to Flossmoor police reports.

The bicyclist was traveling westbound with the flow of traffic at about 12:18 p.m. March 7, in the 3400 block of Flossmoor Road, when a 1998 green Nissan swerved to the right, nearly crashing into the rider, the report stated. A man in the car’s passenger seat then emptied a bottle of some kind of drink onto him and his bike before the car fled, the report stated.

A video camera mounted on the front of the victim’s bike was able to record the entire incident, including the Nissan’s license plate number, the report stated.

No charges have been filed, but police are still investigating.
