Cell Phone Snatched From Commuter At Flossmoor Metra Station

A commuter waiting for a train was robbed on the platform.

FLOSSMOOR, IL - A commuter waiting for a train at the Flossmoor Metra station just before 6 a.m. Wednesday was robbed of a cell phone. While on the platform, a man grabbed the phone from the commuter and fled on foot on Sterling Avenue according to a Flossmoor police E-Cop report.

Witnesses described the suspect as an African-American man in his mid-teens who was wearing a red hooded Nike sweatshirt and black sweatpants at the time of the theft. Police said there was "no inference" of a weapon during the incident.

Metra police are leading the investigation and are trying to get video footage of the incident.
