Chicago Radiance Synchronized Skating Holds Spring Tryouts

Chicago Radiance Synchronized Skating will hold spring tryouts on April 15 at the Homewood-Flossmoor Ice Arena in Flossmoor and April 29 at the Southwest Ice Arena in Crestwood. Chicago Radiance offers skaters the opportunity to participate in synchronized skating both competitively and in house. Skaters must attend both tryouts to be considered for a team.

Male and female skaters under 18 are invited to try out. The first tryout day will take place at the Homewood-Flossmoor Ice Arena, 777 S. Kedzie Ave., Flossmoor. Following are tryout details for Sunday, April 15:

• Session 1: Skaters age 9 and under. Registration starts at 6:15 p.m., on-ice 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.
• Session 2: Skaters age 10 and older. Registration starts at 6:15 p.m., on ice 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. for skaters that passed no higher than pre-preliminary moves in the field.
• Session 3: Skaters passed preliminary moves in the field. Registration starts at 6:45 p.m., on ice 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.

The second tryout day falls on April 29 at the Southwest Ice Arena, 5505 127th St., Crestwood:

• Skaters will be assigned to a session between 5 to 7 p.m. after tryout day one.

Skaters are not placed on teams based only on their age and test level. Many other factors are also taken into consideration, including effort, posture, experience, performance, skill, power, behavior and maturity.

Female skaters should wear tights, a dark colored dress or skirt and fitted top, with hair pulled neatly away from the face. Male skaters should wear pants and a fitted shirt. No hoodies, gloves or jewelry are permitted.

The program features a house team (exhibition only) and ## competitive teams, including Basic Skills 1, Basic Skills 2, Pre-Juvenile and Intermediate Level. The season runs September to February. The tryout fee is $65. Visit Chicago Radiance for payment information.
