Fast Facts: After seeing a string of four straight state titles halted at sectionals last year, Simeon is on a mission to get back to Peoria. The Wolverines are led by a trio of Big Ten recruits. Morrow (15 PPG, 8 RPG, 3 BPG) is off to Nebraska next year, while Moss (9 PPG) heads to Iowa. Williams (10 PPG, 4 RPG, 3 APG) stays in-state and will go to Illinois next year as the Simeon pipeline to Champaign has reopened in recent years. Former Wolverines Kendrick Nunn and Jaylon Tate are currently playing for the Illini. Led by superstars such as Derrick Rose and Jabari Parker, the Wolverines have won six state titles since 2005. H-F reaches the sectionals under first-year coach Marc Condotti, who replaced Jim McLaughlin in the spring. Condotti’s father, Ray, led the Vikings to a second-place finish in 2003 behind Julian Wright. Barnes does it all for the Vikings. He averages 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while sprinkling in 78 assists, 46 steals and 28 blocks. All of those are team-highs. Bradley has had a solid season with 9.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Homewood-Flossmoor won its 11th regional title in the past 12 seasons last week. The winner of this game will face either Thornwood or St. Rita in Friday’s sectional title game. Simeon’s only in-state losses this year came to St. Rita and Bogan.
