D228 Board of Education Recognizes Hillcrest HS Football Boosters

The boosters help create a culture of team building and cooperation as well as opportunities for responsibility, accountability and pride

On Tuesday, February 20, the D228 Board of Education presented representatives of the Hillcrest High School Football Parent Booster Club with its Volunteer Recognition Award. Principal Simms introduced Chenisha McElroy and Brenda Forte to accept the award. Dr. Simms recommended the Football Boosters for the award because "they have gone above and beyond working to create a culture of team building and cooperation as well as opportunities for responsibility, accountability and pride." The boosters also plan fundraisers, organize playoff watch parties, provide team meals, operate the concession stand for home games, and provide game day snacks and away game lunches and goody bags. Dr. Simms said, "They have set the bar high and we hope that the Booster Club and Football Program continue to grow for the benefit of our students and our school. We are pleased to honor them." Board Member Larry Canning presented the Booster Club with a plaque recognizing their efforts.
