Dolphin Lake Park, Clubhouse Improvements Moving Along

The clubhouse is expected to be torn down this week, contingent upon the weather.

Frigid temperatures and snow haven’t stopped progress on the renovations to Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s Dolphin Lake Clubhouse, 2700 W. 183rd Street.

“The new foundation and footings for the addition on the eastside of the Clubhouse are almost complete and currently all the electrical and mechanical materials are being disassembled in the building in preparation for the demolition of the structure,” park district staff wrote on their Facebook page. “The building may be demolished later this week, however, this step will be dependent on the weather. The anticipated opening is Fall 2015.”

The improvements include a complete renovation of the clubhouse, ADA access to all areas of the park, a large shelter, walking paths, a small playground area, improved parking, outdoor classroom, pond overlook, fishing stations and bioswales throughout the park.
