DUI, Traffic Safety Checkpoint Wednesday Night in Homewood

Cook County Sheriff's police will be keeping an eye out for impaired drivers, also checking for valid driver's licenses and registration.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police will conduct a roadside safety checkpoint the night of Wednesday, Dec. 23 through early Thursday, Dec. 24, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said Tuesday. An exact location was not announced.

At the checkpoint officers will ensure drivers are complying with Illinois driver’s license and registration requirements as well as determine whether anyone is driving impaired.

The checkpoint’s aim is to emphasize roadway safety, increase seatbelt usage by motorists, promote the importance of safe travel, and help reduce the number of vehicle crashes in Cook County.
