DUI
Meredith Jackson, 33, of the 17700 block of Oakwood Avenue, Richton Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and illegal transportation of open alcohol after a March 13 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Jackson also had two outstanding County warrants for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, the report stated.
Police ran a random registration check at about 9:03 p.m. on Jackson’s red Chevrolet Cavalier while it was in the parking lot of 7-Eleven, 3154 183rd St., the report stated. The check pulled up the outstanding warrants, the report added.

The officer approached Jackson in the car, asking for her license and proof of insurance, the report stated. At the time, a strong odor of alcohol could be detected coming from Jackson’s breath, and her eyes were bloodshot, the report added.
The officer also noticed two plastic cups in the car, and he asked Jackson what was in them, the report stated.
“Some alcohol,” she replied, according to the report. Jackson also said she had drank two glasses of tequila earlier that evening, the report added.
Jackson refused to take field sobriety tests and was taken in to custody, the report stated.

Retail Theft
Arnold Brady, 44, of Chicago, was arrested and charged March 11 with retail theft after trying to take a $29.89 wrench set from Menards, 17545 Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.
