TUESDAY, DEC. 15

Trespassing, Criminal Damage to Property

Brandon Darty, 22, of 19100 block of Pierce Avenue, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property and criminal trespass after being accused of breaking into a house at about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 19100 block of Pierce, according to Homewood police reports.

Retail Theft

Robert Betts, 39, of the 14600 block of Kenwood Avenue, Dolton, was arrested and charged with retail theft Dec. 15 after being accused of trying to steal $72 worth of jewelry from Kohl’s, 17620 S. Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.

SUNDAY, DEC. 13

DUI, BAC over .08

Juan Telez, 59, of the 3400 block of Aberdeen Street, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit, speeding and reckless driving after a Dec. 13 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Police clocked Telez at about 1:32 a.m., going 98 mph in a 45-mph zone in the 19000 block of Halsted St., the report stated. During the stop, the officer reported that Telez’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot, and his breath smelled of alcohol, the report added.

DUI, BAC over .08

Barbara Smith, 34, 6400 block of South King Drive, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit, illegally transporting an open container of alcohol, driving with a suspended license and making an improper turn after a Dec. 13 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Police pulled over Smith at about 2:20 a.m. after she made an illegal turn at the intersection of 183rd Street and Harwood Avenue, the report stated. During the stop, the officer reported that Smith’s eyes were bloodshot, her breath smelled of alcohol, and she had difficulty retrieving her license from her purse, the report added.

SATURDAY, DEC. 12

Retail Theft

Ladayia Johnson, 22, of the 23000 block of South King Road, Crete, and Heather Jenkins, 21, of the 2800 block of Birch Road, were arrested and charged with retail theft after being accused Dec. 12 of trying to steal women’s clothing from Kohl’s, 17620 S. Halsted, St., according to Homewood police reports.

FRIDAY, DEC. 11

Felony Retail Theft

Leon Chamberlain, 46, of South 20th Avenue, Maywood, and Victor Brakes, 51, of the 1500 block of Deercreek Lane, Ford Heights, were arrested and charged with felony retail theft after being accused Dec. 11 of trying to steal more than $1,000 of merchandise from Jewel, 3153 W. 183rd St., according to Homewood police reports.
