
The H-F Racquet & Fitness Club (the Club)will once again be an official host site for the National Senior Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 30, 2012.
The Club will open its doors to all seniors – members and non-members – for this day. Its planned activities include Free memory screening, blood sugar testing and digital foot scanning. Ingalls Wellness Center, housed in the Club’s building, will provide information on various services including outpatient diabetes management. Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center will be onsite to answer questions and provide additional information on this topic. Seniors are invited to use the Club for the day whether to swim, exercise, walk the track, partake in a class or simply visit or attend the various informative sessions.
The Club will present specialized senior fitness opportunities including low-impact aerobics, Zumba Gold and SilverSplash®. An acupuncture demonstration followed by a 20-minute chair yoga session will be offered and a presentation on “You Are What You Eat”.
