Family Fun Night at The Cancer Support Center
Kids Crafts Workshop sponsored by Home Depot of Homewood

On Monday, March 23, The Cancer Support Center will host Family Fun Night at its Homewood location, 2028 Elm Road, Homewood, IL 60430. This workshop is generously sponsored by Home Depot of Homewood. The family event will include building, creating and having fun with entire family. Special projects will include wooden cars, coasters, and message boards.
When a loved one is diagnosed with cancer, children, teens and family members may experience anxiety, sadness, fear and confusion. The Center is here to help minimize distress and create an environment for families to relax and take comfort.
“Family Fun Night is designed to promote family unity,” said Kathleen Simpson, MA, LPC, Program Director and Art Therapist at The Cancer Support Center. “When a family member is diagnosed with cancer, many unknowns can arise. The Center is here to create a safe space for families to enjoy the time they have with one another without worry.”

The family and children programming model offers support options to the parents, the children or the family unit. Programs include: parent and child individual therapy, family counseling, family fun nights, kids club, teen talk, special summer camps and nutrition consultations for the whole family.
The Center is here to give strength, guidance and support to anyone living with a cancer diagnosis, as well as to their loved ones. We do this as a community-based, volunteer-driven, donor-supported organization. Our programs, resources and services are always delivered by professional therapists, counselors, nutritionists, and experts; and are provided in a warm, welcoming and nurturing setting at no cost to participants.
