Female Found Dead With Apparent Gunshot Wound In Homewood Saturday: Police
A homicide investigation is ongoing, police say.
HOMEWOOD, IL — A female was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound in Homewood Saturday afternoon, police said.
According to the Homewood Police Department, at about 1:43 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 2400 block of 175th Street, after reports of an unresponsive female.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female inside the residence with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, police said.

The Homewood Police Department's criminal investigations unit is conducting a homicide investigation with the assistance of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, officials said.
Based on the facts and information gathered so far, investigators believe the shooting to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the public at this time, police said.
