SATURDAY, APRIL 18
DUI, Speeding
Dwayne Mays, 46, of Phoenix, Ill., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding after an April 18 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Police clocked Mays at about 12:21 a.m., going 55 mph in a 30-mph zone in the 18500 block of Riegel Road, the report stated.

Jean Saint-Fort, 51, of the 9300 block of Kingston Street, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit after an April 18 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.
Police noticed Saint-Fort’s silver Kia Sorrento straddling the raised median in the 2500 block of 175th Street at about 11:04 p.m., the report stated. The car was facing west with its front driver’s side tire in the air while Saint-Fort continue to accelerate, the report added.
FRIDAY, APRIL 17
Retail Theft
A St. Charles man is accused of stealing a six-pack of beer from a parked beer truck during a delivery April 17, according to Homewood police reports.
Alexander Wezdecki, 26, of the 4000 block of Royal and Ancient Drive, St. Charles, was arrested and charged with theft after he allegedly took a six-pack of Ice House beer off a hand track as it was being delivered to United Liquors, 17532 Dixie Hwy., the report stated.
The beer was valued at $4.99.
Felony Possession of Controlled Substance
Leonard White, 48, of the 2600 block of Turtle Creek Drive, Hazel Crest, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, according to Homewood police reports.
Police observed White standing by the closed car wash of the Mobil gas station at West 175th Street and Dixie Highway at about 11:26 p.m. April 17, the report stated. As the officer approached White, the man emptied a clear, plastic bag that contained a white-brown-tinted substance, which later field tested as 0.4 grams of heroin, the report added.
MONDAY, APRIL 13
Felony Retail Theft
Patrick Barnes, 52, of the 900 block of Parnell Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with felony retail theft after being accused of shoplifting electrical switches April 13 from Home Depot, 17845 S. Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.
The store’s loss prevention agent told police he saw Barnes take 13 electrical switches and put them in his waistband before trying to leave the store without paying for them, the report stated.
The switches were estimated at $310.61, according to the report.
Felony Retail Theft
Ralph Wiley, 57, of the 600 block of 83rd Place, Chicago, was arrested and charged with felony retail theft after being accused of shoplifting merchandise from Home Depot, 17845 S. Halsted St., according to Homewood police reports.
The store’s loss prevention agent told police he saw Wiley take a hand seamer and three packages of heavy-duty anchors and put them in his shirt, the report stated. Wiley then tried to leave the store without paying for the items, the report added.
The hand seamer was estimated at $50.74, and the anchors were $7.88 each, the report stated.
Fleeing and Eluding, Driving on Suspended License
Rashad Wilkerson, 23, of the 10900 block of Parnell Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, driving without insurance and improper passing on the shoulder after leading police on a chase April 13, according to Homewood police reports.
An officer tried to pull over Wilkerson at about 7:05 p.m., at 175th and Halsted streets, the report stated. Wilkerson, however, continued traveling northbound on Halsted, driving around a large semi-truck by going on the shoulder and increasing his speed as he approached the Interstate-80 on ramp, the report added.
Once on the interstate, Wilkerson sped up more, traveling eastbound, before he was stopped, the report stated.
