Flossmoor Candidates Forum Canceled Due to Candidates' Lack of Interest
Three of four candidates rejected the invitation from the H-F League of Women Voters.

The Homewood-Flossmoor League of Women Voters decided to cancel its March 1 Flossmoor Village Board candidate forum after three of the four candidates declined to participate, the group said in a press release.
Four candidates are vying for three vacant positions: those who declined to attend the forum are James B. Wilder, James C. Mitros and Perry Hoag.
Candidate Dennis White accepted the invitation.

”However, the League cannot hold an ’empty chair’ debate (that is, a forum with just one candidate participating), and thus the forum must be canceled,” according to the release.
“The League is sincerely disappointed and regrets that the residents of Flossmoor are being denied the opportunity to attend a discussion of the concerns and issues facing Flossmoor, as well as to gain an understanding of the positions of the candidates because the three incumbents are not participating. This is certainly not democracy at its finest.”
