Flossmoor Police Issue A Dozen Citations In St. Patrick's Day Traffic Safety Push

The campaign ran March 13–23.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Flossmoor Police Department announced that it issued eight seat belt citations, three speeding citations, one distracted driving citation and one arrest for driving on a suspended license during the increased St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period, which began March 13 and ended at 6 a.m. on March 23.

“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason: to save lives,” says Flossmoor Police Chief Carl Estelle.

“Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis or another drug, impaired driving puts everyone at risk.”

The Flossmoor Police Department teamed up with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and the Drive High. Get a DUI enforcement campaign.

The effort was funded by federal highway safety funds, administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
