Judge Tosses 5 Convictions Against Former Governor Rod Blagojevich

He could see a shorter sentence.

A judge has vacated five convictions against former Illlinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, which means he could seek a retrial on those counts and might spend less time in prison, ABC7 reports.

The rest of the convictions were upheld.

The prosecutor could decide to drop the vacated charges, and the district court would proceed directly to re-sentencing. Blagojevich was previously sentenced to 14 years.
