'Funnel Cake Man' Fatally Shot, Police Searching For Suspects
'Funnel Cake Man' Tavares Davis was killed Tuesday in Dolton in what family say was a robbery.
DOLTON, IL — Police are looking for suspects in the shooting death of a beloved father and south suburban businessman.
Tavares Davis was shot and killed during a robbery Tuesday afternoon near the corner of Drexel Avenue and 155th Street in Dolton, WGN reports. His family said he was found with no valuables on him.
Davis and his wife Nakesha are the pair behind the business The Funnel Cake Man, with locations at Orland Square Mall and Merrillville, Ind.

“Who ever robbed my husband has robbed us,” Nakesha Davis told WGN. “They robbed me of my husband and partner and they robbed my children.”
