Getaway Car Swiped Another In Kohl's Parking Lot: Cops

The most recent arrests made by the Homewood Police Department.

The following information is from the Homewood Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Retail Theft

Larry Holmes, 39, Calumet City was charged with retail theft and Germaine Henderson, 29, Chicago with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended/revoked at 4:38 p.m. on Oct. 5 at Kohl's, 17620 Halsted. Holmes concealed items and exited the store without paying for the merchandise which had a total retail value of $75. Holmes entered a vehicle driven by Henderson, which struck another vehicle as they attempted to leave the area.

James Chapman, 76, Chicago Heights was charged with retail theft and criminal trespass to property at 6:15 a.m. at Jewel-Osco, 17705 Halsted. Chapman concealed items and when confronted by an employee, left the items behind and fled the store. Chapman was located a short distance away and taken into custody. Chapman had previously been given notice that he was not allowed in the store.

Jeremiah Nesbitt, 28, Sauk Village was charged with retail theft at 9:43 a.m. on Oct. 10 at Home Depot, 17845 Halsted. Nesbitt concealed items and exited the store without paying for the merchandise which had a total retail value of $392.

Unlawful Possession Of Weapon

Donald Carter III, 28, Hazel Crest was stopped at 183rd Street and Kedzie Avenue at 10:14 p.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with disobeying a traffic control device, driving while license suspended/revoked and unlawful possession of a weapon. Carter was found to be in possession of a firearm without the required FOID card or
Conceal Carry License.

DUI

Rashad Moore, 25, South Holland was stopped at 183rd Street and Hood at 3:05 a.m. on Oct. 6 and was charged with speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

Reckless Driving

Cheyenne Winters, 18, of the 18400 block of Hood was charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of a traffic crash and failure to give information at 8:54 p.m. on Oct. 8 stemming from an incident in the 2200 block of Maple. Winters lost control of the vehicle she was driving causing damage to the landscaping, grass and a tree at a residence in the 2200 block of Maple. Winters left the area and was located in the 2400 block of 183rd St.

Forgery

Christopher Yaniz, 32, Indianapolis was charged with forgery at 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 9 at US Bank, 18300 Dixie Highway. Yaniz presented a stolen check, which he had endorsed, in order to obtain cash back.
