H-F Racquet Club Announces New Protocols For Reopening

As the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Racquet & Fitness Center​ looks forward to reopening next week, things will look a little different.

HOMEWOOD, IL – As the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Racquet & Fitness Center looks forward to reopening next week, things will look a little different, and the center has implemented health and safety measures to keep patrons safe during the pandemic.

The center will be reopening as part of Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan on Monday and will be open Monday - Thursday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 6 a.m - 1 p.m. The center will be closed on July 4.

Patrons entering the club will notice that seating has been removed from the lobby, fitness center and Love 40 Lounge, the center announced on its website. Common areas will be closed in order to encourage physical distancing and eliminate touch points. The Kids Zone will be closed during this time as well.

Patrons are encouraged to bring their own towels, as towel service will not be provided. Locker room access will be limited to the bathroom areas only, so patrons should arrive already dressed.

During Phase 4, the club with have a limited capacity of 50 members.

Updated health and safety guidelines will require all members and staff to sanitize their hands when they walk into the club and clean their equipment before and after use. Water fountains will be closed but the no-touch water bottle fill station will be open. Certain fitness equipment will not be available for us to encourage physical distancing.

All members are required to wear face coverings when entering the building. Masks must also be worn in all common areas, such as bathrooms and hallways. Masks are recommended while working out.
