Hillcrest HS Art Students To Display Work at Museum of Science and Industry

Akiyah Lee and Stephen Brisco have been selected to display their art pieces at the museum

Hillcrest High School is proud to announce that two seniors, Akiyah Lee and Stephen Brisco, have been selected to display their art pieces at the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago for the Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition. Art work is submitted in the fall from artists around the country and a panel of five jurors, led by Dr. Walter Massey, president of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and MSI trustee, select the pieces for exhibition. The Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition presents more than 100 dynamic works from both professional and amateur African-American artists from around the country, including a dozen youth artists between the ages of 14 and 17. “Both students have created a variety of art pieces in their Advanced Placement Art Studio course that will be submitted as a completed portfolio for their AP Exams. I am very proud of their achievements”, said art teacher Jamilah Adebesin Mason. Akiyah and Stephen’s work will be on display the museum from January 18 through Febuary 21.
