Hillcrest HS Celebrates Career Resource Week

Students were able to network with professionals to gain key information

Hillcrest High School celebrated Career Resource Week with special presentations in the Instructional Media Center (IMC) from a variety of local professionals and technical schools. The students had the opportunity to visit the IMC during specific core classes and study halls. Students were able to network with the professionals to gain key information on possible employment or academic fields of study.

The following industries were present: Country Club Hills Police and Fire Department, Elite Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) School, United States Marines, Pace Bus company, CISCO (Union jobs), U.S. Bank, Environmental Technical Institute (ETI), John Amico School of Hair Design, Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School of Hair, Capri Beauty School, Highway Construction, University of St. Francis Nursing Program, and a Personal Trainer. South Suburban College was well represented with a numerous options for the students to visit: School of Criminal Justice, Court Reporting, Paralegal, Pharmacy Technician program and the Manufacturing program.

Hillcrest students were able to inquire about career possibilities, admission criteria, curriculum, and what type of work is required. The goal of the week was to expose the students to a many career choices.
