Hillcrest HS Concert Choir Earns Superior Rating

Fifth consecutive year the choir has earned a Superior rating

For the fifth consecutive year, the Hillcrest High School Concert Choir, under the direction of Ms. Bonnie Mootry, scored a superior (Division 1) rating at the IHSA Organizational Contest held at Rich East High School in Park Forest on Saturday, April 18. “The judges were impressed with the choir’s poise and professionalism, as well as tone quality, balance and blends. One judge commented that the second number the choir sang had ‘some gorgeous moments.’ A second judge recognized the soloists for their ‘amazing job,’” stated Ms. Mootry. The decision of the judges was unanimous, which gave the choir its fifth consecutive superior ranking! Two students, Devon Bridges and Jesse Craig, were recognized for their outstanding work and will receive information about music scholarships to the college of choice.
